My parents purchased a rather ugly old camper with some damage for a summer project. Dad made it structurally sound, ensured all the utilities worked and installed new floors. Mom painted, wallpapered and decorated.

Edit: here are some more photos! [Cozy Camper Renovation](https://imgur.com/gallery/9PI3Q)

Edit #2: I have been sharing with my parents how many “likes” and comments their camper has and they are just amazed at the attention it’s getting! They don’t understand Reddit, or the internet at all really- but it made them feel good regardless! My mom said “oh my gosh, that’s so nice!!” and my dad responded with a single “HA! You’re kidding!” And shook his head with a smile, in true Minnesota fashion. Now I’ve gotta talk them into Airbnb! Thanks Reddit!!

Does your mom do design for a living? I’d hire her in a heartbeat. Please tell her for me what a wonderful job she did.

When I was a wee lad my grandpa had a camper on some no name lake about 4 hours north of us we’d often visit. From the wood paneling to the shag carpet it was like stepping back into 1968, which was probably about the last time the camper had been moved. It was illegally close to the lake, had questionably potable water, but was still a grand place for a kid with it’s bush and snakes and fish a plenty. I have to wonder if it’s still there.

Badass! Having one of these that I can renovate and turn into a retail store is my dream!!! There’s already a company called westside collective that does something similar, but I’m on the gulf coast (so therefore not competing.)

Just curious. Do your parents already own the land? Can I do the same and put my camper anywhere beside a lake? Lol

Great pics and renovation! I suspected this post was from MN when I read your Mom’s comment, lol. I’m from central MN too and fiercely proud of it. What lake is that? I live in WA now and long for MN every summer….
