As a former termite tech, this could pay off much sooner. That would have sent me scurrying out from under your porch in a hurry. Got sent to enough shady homes to think twice.

So we’re supposed to take your word that’s a fake skeleton? If another hurricane comes by next week and blows away the steps we’re supposed to laugh and say, “what a funny prank by /u/welder22?” And then meanwhile your mother in law never got back from Reno?

Someday you’re going to have some electrician or plumber or landscaper working there, only to suddenly drive off in their truck, tires screeching. Then 15 minutes later, you open your door to have a conversation with two or three nice police officers, accompanied by one of their colleagues at each corner of your house.

This happened to my first boss after college once, because he was a professor and had a literal skeleton in his attic. The police let him keep it, but were not amused.

‘OP’ had nothing to do with this prank… It’s honest to God stolen from a Facebook friend of mine. Everyone is writing on his wall telling him he’s on the front page of reddit, and he’s like ‘Er, no, someone stole this. I’m not Welder22’. Reddit is awful sometimes. Pictorial proof attached [Here](https://i.imgur.com/BWmHYfz.jpg) – it’s a public post but I’ve edited out the name and face as I’m not sure of the rules or if he’d want the attention since he clearly opted not to post here in the first place.

The real question is will your carpentry skills be as good as the guy who built the first deck. 97 year deck life, you have some confidence in your wood and building skills.

I was a carpenter for several years and worked on a ton of houses. I always found weird shit in the crawl spaces under houses. The weirdest was a collection of bones made into swastika in the corner. The house was built in 1916. So I took an inspiration for the weirdness of hiding things in crawl spaces and hid a bunch of key plot points from the story I’m writing written on metal shards under every house I worked on. If my story ever becomes popular, (it’s a mystery/sci fi story) major spoilers are hidden under these houses. The story actually involves hidden things in cellars so it’s not entirely random and super creepy. If my story doesn’t become popular, maybe someone in the future will link the pieces together and sort out the story on their own.

Then someone will link back to this thread?
