I used to work at this Cheba Hut! The nearby Natural Grocers always had free coffee for customers that they begrudgingly let us have too. Also the local dispensary’s gave us great discounts.

for chicken, it’s less the GMO you have to worry about, than the drugs that may be used on chicken.

at birth, a tiny bit of antibiotics like penicillin in food are standard to help a chicken grow. abuse of this practice have today led to drug resistant strains of infectious bacteria.

some other drugs that used to be used in chicken, but banned are: arsenic compounds. arsenic is used to kill parasites, and to give chicken meat a pink color to entice consumers. fda banned the use of 3 arsenic drugs in 2011, and a fourth drug was voluntarily withdrawn from market in 2013. arsenic accumulates in liver. the use of steroids and growth hormones is banned in chicken and other poultry since 1959, but still allowed in cows and pigs. trace amounts of steroids can be found in meat and milk.

I’ve only been to Denver one time, but I’m glad I stopped in at a weird looking place called Cheba Hut in downtown. I don’t know enough about weed culture to have understood what I was getting myself into before I walked in, mind you. We just wanted food.

Those subs were fantastic, and the staff was really kind and entertaining to talk to. They were obviously enjoying themselves in there, and the decorations and signage inside was really funny and relaxing, in an odd way. Made for a nice “last stop” before I went to the stress of the airport and back home.

Hope the business is going strong.

There’s no way their chickens have never consumed GMO or otherwise modified food.

“Our chickens don’t do GMOs” <—- ignorance at its finest. This is why we are all gunna starve when the world is over populated. People don’t know what they are and then listen to the companies that paint them as universally bad. Yes the modified organisms can be abused in a negative way. But it’s the future and the only way to produce enough food for our baby epidemic.

I went to Oregon State, we had a Cheba Hut for a few months. They were in a prime location, had great food, but they were so damn high all the time that it would take upwards of 90 minutes to get your sandwhich. I wish they would have lasted longer because it was so good.

Does this constant personification of animals that we have grown accustomed to torturing, mutilating, and eating in excessive numbers bother anyone else? Not trying to ruin the joke for anyone. I just honestly want to know if anyone else finds it a little too disturbing to be funny.
