    I don’t download any files from sites that have multiple download buttons. If they allow those kinds of misleading ads, odds are their files are just as dodgy.

    Highlight each one and check to see which one has an appropriate link shown at the bottom of the screen. If it’s not a legitimate name for the download you are trying for, for example if you are trying to download a song and instead it links to downloader.exe, try a different one.

    The trick at Sourceforge is that you should just wait for the real download to start, not click on anything.

    Normally if you hover your mouse over the link in the lower left corner will show where its leading before you click it, if there any mention of add don’t click it.
