You can work at a touristy spot, have crowds watch you create one, but once finished, crowd breaks and no one buys.

Nice patterns on the planet. I think one improvement could be to make the planet look more 3d.

Throw a city skyline on the bottom and it looks like all those streetcorner painters on youtube, which is great because those are fucking dope.

Wow brought back such memories. I used to do this all the time! Check out a YouTube channel by “spraycasso” for techniques, ideas, etc. Also photograph paper + clear coat = best friend. Keep up the good work

I think it’s cool, but a lot of these type of paintings are overdone and quite quick to become quick and easy art for selling. Just lessens the value of it in my opinion.

I one time watched a guy do this for an hour or two. The techniques were pretty straight forward so afterwards I went home and replicated it. They looked pretty good, my mom thought so too and pressured me to enter my painting into an allied arts contest through my middle school. I ended up winning and winning again… I made it all the way to state before someone who knew the technique finally saw it and was like – wtf is this doing here?

I went up on stage at the state level art awards and accepted first place for a spray paint space painting. My painting career didn’t go anywhere from there..

Maybe adjusting the light on the planet. When I did these I would picture where the sun would be in that solar system . If you want some good textures on planets , try laying down some newspaper on it and gently rub it then lift it up slowly . I got some amazing results doing that method

Take care of your health. You might want to have a proper ventilator and mask. I recall talking to the street artist here in Austin TX and he said he would be packing up at the end of an evening and was very dizzy and nauseated. He invested in a powered ventilator and mask to minimize the exposure to the paint fumes.

Yeah, It’s really bloody good. Excellent stuff, you should absolutely continue your work. Its horrible that the top comments are passive nastiness and indirect putdowns, horrible still that they got there through upvotes from equally like minded individuals, but despair not. You should continue this style and see what else you can expand into, your artistic soul knows no limits.

Why does it always have to be space? Thousands upon thousands of people do these on the streets , and they are all sky and space , with some tree and mountain here and there. Get creative, break the trend , be original. The spray paint art is already hard enough because it’s not classy looking, it’s rough and plain, so find something different and better to do with it besides giant planets and stars

It looks nice! These paintings are incredibly easy to make, even on the first try they often look great. Honestly, this is not one of the better ones I’ve seen, even for a beginner, but you’ll get so good at them quickly and I know you’ll be making beauties in no time!

Looks really good, although I would personally prefer the dark areas lose all their features like they aren’t getting light. I’m not sure if that would actually make for as aesthetically pleasing of a painting, so maybe this is best.

The bottom part is cool, but doing planets with spray paint and newspaper is really stale. I think you should explore painting other subjects. Further develop whatever you’re doing on the bottom there.

Good work so far. A few pointers, if you’d like: be sure to clean the rim of the bowl or lid that you use for the planet. Old paint gets stuck to it and when you use it next, it peels some of the new paint off, creating that ring around the planet.
I like the landscape created, though kinda tilted. The waterfall is always a cool effect. However I couldn’t tell if the middle ground is snow or icy water. Even if the background mountains are tilted, the water should still remain flat and level. These are just my two cents as someone who used to make these paintings as well. They’re really fun and addicting to create. Keep up the great work

Love it, I bought one of these from a guy who made them right off of Times Square. The guy always had a audience watching and someone who wanted to buy. I’m sure he made bank off it. He sold them for 20-30 and could make one in about 10 minutes and sold it easily.
